Truffle are among the most appreciated chocolate delicacies.

The original truffle consisted of a center component made of ganache (Ganache is a velvety smooth combination of chocolate and cream) coated with black chocolate and then covered with cocoa powder.

Truffle was invented in France in 1895 by Mr Henri dufour. It was named after the original truffle which is a small wild mushroom found growing near tree roots in the deepest forests of France. It is difficult to find (the use of pigs or specially trained dogs is necessary) which makes it quite expensive. Since the chocolate truffle resembles this little mushroom so much, the creators of this masterpiece decided that it should be named after it. Nowadays truffle are made in a wide variety of tastes.
